To celebrate the launch of a new version of Ohbot, the world’s first easy-to-program robot head, we’re going to launch one into near space.
Nearspace is a region of the stratosphere where the sky looks black, you would need a spacesuit to survive and the temperature drops to a chilly -45 degrees. Out astrOhbot, 'Peaky' will be programmed to react to the conditions during the flight, with chattering teath and fears for its safety or the condition of its batteries all scripted by children.
Having run a competition to select a school to launch from we will be announcing the winning school here on Monday 31st October. The launch will take place in November. Return here to keep track of the lead up to the mission.
